GRIMSBY Town Football Club are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Solihull Moors Football Club for the permanent transfer of midfielder, Jamey Osborne and striker, Akwasi Asante. The pair will link up with their former manager Marcus Bignot, who managed the pair at their former club.

Osborne (24) has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Mariners, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2019. Osborne came through the ranks at Hednesford Town, going on to make over 200 appearances for the club over a 6 year period. Despite interest from the likes of Notts County, Crewe Alexandra and Crawley Town, Jamey made the move to Redditch United in 2015. Osborne then joined his hometown club, Solihull Moors in the summer of 2016. Following a number of eye-catching performances where he scored 5 goals in 25 league and FA Cup appearances, the highly rated attacking midfielder was subject to reported interest from a number of Football League clubs in the January transfer window. Regularly considered one of the brightest talents in non-league football, manager Marcus Bignot has given the midfielder his chance to shine in Sky Bet League Two.

Akwasi Asante (24), who joined Solihull Moors in 2015 has agreed an 18 month contract, which will keep him with the Mariners until the summer of 2018. Asante began his professional career at Birmingham City, where he enjoyed loan spells at Northampton Town and Shrewsbury Town respectively. In 2015, he made the move to Kidderminster Harriers, making 11 appearances before making the move to the West Midlands. The Dutch striker's 17 league goals helped secure Solihull Moors' promotion to the Vanarama National League, following their Championship winning campaign in the 2015/16 season. So far this season, Asante has scored 12 goals in 24 league and FA Cup appearances, including consecutive hat-tricks vs. Maidstone and Southport in October 2016.

Jamey and Akwasi will both meet up with their new team mates at Cheapside tomorrow morning and will both be available for selection for our fixture vs. Notts County this weekend.
