Marcus Bignot was appointed as the new Grimsby Town manager in November 2016.
He arrived at the club having spent five years at now National League side Solihull Moors, where he guided the West Midlands side to promotion last season.
Marcus served his apprenticeship with Birmingham City and had a short spell at Telford United before going to Kidderminster Harriers in 1996 He was capped for the England C squad, and after 56 appearances moved on Crewe Alexandra in August 1997 for £100,000. Marcus joined Bristol Rovers in 2000 and to Queens Park Rangers in March 2001. He moved to Rushden and Diamonds in July 2001 when they were in the old second division and after a 30 month stay it was back to Loftus Road for four years and 136 games, during which time he became club captain. It was then onto Millwall in January 2008, and finally he returned to where it all started Kidderminster, in February 2010 .
He initially joined the Conference North side Solihull Moors as assistant manager towards the end of the 2010–11 season however, on 27 June 2011 for the 2011–12 season Marcus was appointed as manager following the resignation of Micky Moore.
