TOWN boss Mike Newell, Danny North, Pete Bore and Andy Taylor were at Humberston School football academy on Friday 30th January.

The academy is run by the Sports Lincs - a partnership between the football club, youth services, the council and Humberside police.

This initiative is predicated on successes of Grimsby Town's Football in the Community scheme run by Graham Rodger and his team.

Town chairman John Fenty was also at the event. He said: "On this occasion I'm wearing my councillor hat with regards being the ward councillor for Humberston and New Waltham.

"I'm delighted to say that the three ward councillors John Colebrook Steve Norton and myself have supported two football academies - one in New Waltham and the other one in Humberston.

"Essentially we have given three-thousand pounds to each academy from the ward fund which has provided start up and operational costs for the first year."
