MARK Oxley came in to make his Grimsby Town debut after replacing Nick Colgan between the sticks. Colgan was rested and allowed to stay at home in Yorkshire following the arrival of the 19-year-old Hull City loanee on Friday.
Peter Sweeney returned after serving a two match suspension coming in in place of the unlucky Michael Coulson. Lee Peacock starts his first game as Town captain alongside Tommy Wright in attack.
It turned out to be a disappointing performance by the Mariners in London this afternoon.
The home side started the better and Green saw his shot deflected narrowly wide.
Town were a little bit lucky not to have been given a penalty against them after Peter Bore looked to have handled a cross. Then Town began to get back into it and Peacock saw his glancing header go just wide. Hudson also saw a header go wide after some good work on the right by Tommy Wright.
Town were soon under pressure from the Daggers after the interval and the inevitable goal came on 49 minutes.
Former Town loanee Damien McCrory linked well with Montgomery before the latter hit a pin point ball to the head of Scott to give the Daggers the lead.
The home side continued to press and Montgomery was causing problems for Town. Another good cross eventually found Pack who saw his goal bound effort blocked, the rebound fell nicely for Gain but his shot was wide of the post.
Town almost grabbed an unlikely equaliser as Lancashire's looping header go just over the bar. And substitute Jean Louis Akpa Akpro's shot was deflected wide.
But the Daggers made sure of the victory in the 86th minute. Green made a poweful run into the box before firing low past Oxley into the far corner.
