THE Mariners have announced a pre-season home game against Championship side Doncaster Rovers and are hoping to confirm a Lincolnshire County Senior Cup semi final tie against Scunthorpe United.

The friendly against Rovers has been confirmed for Tuesday 28th July 2009, kick-off 7.00pm. The cup tie against the newly promoted Iron is likely to be on Monday 20th July, kick-off 7.00pm. Both games will be played at Blundell Park.

Town are hoping to announce further pre-season dates soon.

The winners of the Town v Iron game will travel to Sincil Bank to meet Lincoln City in the final; the Imps have been awarded a bye to the final.

Town met the Iron at the final stage last season, losing 4-0 at Glanford Park after beating Lincoln 1-0 at Blundell Park in the semis thanks to a Peter Bore Strike.

The Mariners have won the trophy 36 times, The Iron have lifted it on 15 occasions and Lincoln have won the cup 37 times since its inception in 1884.
