LEEDS midfielder Peter Sweeney says that his future will be decided next week but he says that he won't go anywhere before talking to the Mariners.

Speaking to www.gtfc.co.uk, Town boss Mike Newell reiterated his desire to bring the 24-year-old back to Blundell Park.

He said: "He is the type of player that we are looking to bring into the club.

"He won't go anywhere until he has talked to us."

Sweeney, who impressed during an eight-game loan spell with the Mariners at the end of last season, feels that his future is now probably away from Leeds.

Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside, he said: "I just have to speak to my agent in a week's time and he'll let me know what offers are around,"

"I expect to leave Leeds United now, although that's not 100% yet."

"Football is a funny game and you never know what will happen, so I can't say for sure what will happen as yet.

"I've spoken to Mike Newell a couple of times and he's told me Grimsby are interested in taking me.

"I won't be ruling that move out, but I have to wait to see what options my agent gives me, but Grimsby is one I'm certainly looking to go to."
