Woods: Mixed Emotions
TOWN boss Neil Woods was disappointed with his side's first half performance and he was pleased to only come in at half time only one goal down.
He said: "Very, very disappointed with the first half performance and very pleased with the second half performance.
"We have to thank our goalkeeper and our two center backs for keeping us in the game in the first half - we weren't at the races. We were miles off the pace of the game.
"We didn't adapt to the conditions like what Morecambe did. We were still trying to play sharp, crisp football on a pitch that you couldn't do it.
"I'm disappointed that they don't try and solve the problems themselves. We were happy to come in at 1-0 down because it could have been three or four.
"Our balance was wrong and we made poor decisions in the first half.
"We had a few choice words at half time and we had to change it and change the personnel
"We were too easy to play against in the first half.
"In the second half we did better and they are absolutely shattered in there. That's how they should be. We should play ninety minutes of football - not just forty five."
And when Woods learned about Cheltenham's amazing fight-back at Burton.
He said: "It's disappointing. The only people we can do anything about is ourselves. I can't do anything about what they are doing, we can just look after ourselves.
"We've got mixed emotions today. We came here to get three points and we got one. In the first half we would have been happy with a point first half but we may have thought we would get three into the second half.
"These players do have the fight and the desire, I have never questioned that.".
