The tall and rangy midfielder Peter Sweeney initially joined the Mariners on loan from Leeds in March 2009 before making the move permanent during the summer of 2009.
The Scot came through the ranks at Millwall and played in the FA Cup Final in 2004 against Manchester United.
The 24-year-old went on to star for Stoke, before loan spells at Walsall and Yeovil. He later joined Leeds, but found himself out of favour with managers Gary McAllister and Simon Grayson.
Peter is comfortable on the wing or in the middle of the park and has a wonderful range of passing with his cultured left foot; the Glaswegian is also a set-piece expert.
