UPDATED 04:24 16th July 2012

Defender Shaun Pearson originally joined Town in the summer of 2011 and is considered a huge part of a defence that has been extremely solid since his arrival.

Born in York, the centre back began his career at Spalding United, where he immediately caught the eye at a young age and won their Player of the Year in 2008 and following a move to Stamford the year after, he won the same award.

This form at local clubs caught the attention of Rob Scott and Paul Hurst at Boston United and he was one of their first signings for the club.

Shaun spent two years at Boston, winning promotion to the Conference North and two more Player of the Year awards before leaving to join Scott and Hurst Town in order to pursue a career as a professional footballer.

He had a debut to forget in an infamous game against Braintree Town but since then, he has flourished and been one of Town’s most reliable and consistent performers whilst alongside the likes of Nathan Pond and Ian Miller.

His first goal for the club came when he scored the winner at Hayes and Yeading in April 2012 and he has proven to be a huge threat from set pieces ever since.

Re-signed on a 2-year new deal during the summer

Triggered a contract extension last season and will be with us for another year.
