Wrexham 2 Grimsby Town 2
The Mariners travelled to the Racecourse Ground at the tail end of last season and their 2-2 draw in North Wales was enough to hand the Blue Square Bet Premier title to Fleetwood Town.
The home side, knowing that a win would keep their slim hopes of the title alive, started brightly and veteran Glen Little saw his clever lob clip the crossbar on 19 minutes.
Just four minutes later and the Red Dragons were ahead. A corner ricocheted into the path of Jake Speight and he made no mistake with a low finish from inside the area.
Town managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst made a double switch at the break with Anthony Elding and Andi Thanoj replacing Kiernan Hughes-Mason and Anthony Church.
And the change paid immediate dividends as Thanoj teed up Michael Coulson for a curling effort that dropped agonisingly outside the far post.
But on 63 minutes the Mariners were level. Frankie Artus clipped in a cross to the far post and Elding was left unmarked to stoop and head home.
The hosts responded well and within nine minutes had restored their advantage. Another set piece caused problems in the Town area and Chris Westwood was on hand to nod home from close range.
However Town were not done and equalised in the 81st-minute. The home defence failed to cut out a cross from the left and the ball fell to Thanoj, 22 yards out. He arrowed home an unstoppable drive to earn the Mariners a point.
