THE Mariners have signed Fleetwood Town midfielder Nathan Pond on an initial one month loan deal.
The 27-year-old began his footballing career at Fleetwood, making his debut for Cod Army back in 2003.
Nathan has made over 250 league and cup appearances for Fleetwood during his tenure which now spans over eight seasons. He’s described as an imposing and physical midfielder with an eye for goal, he's said to be a superb athlete and possesses an excellent touch. He can also play in defence.
A member of the 2009/10 promotion winning squad, Pond is Fleetwood Town’s longest serving player. Notched-up 20 starts and 2 league goals in 2010/11.
