Youths Let Lead Slip

20 August 2012

OUR Youth team had to settle for a draw after twice taking the lead against Chesterfield at the weekend.

Will Peers had fired Town ahead with a free-kick but the Spireites drew level. Jack Griffin restored Town’s lead after a fine passing move, but the visitors struck again to deny Robbie Stockdale’s side a deserved win.

The young Mariners are next in action on Saturday when they travel to Hartlepool.

Meanwhile, Grimsby Town has been drawn at home to Pontefract Collieries in the preliminary round of the FA Youth Cup.

The match has been arranged for Wednesday 5th September at Blundell Park.  Kick off is 7.30pm.

Admission will be:Tickets £3 and £2
