TOWN director John Fenty has confirmed that the club are working hard behind the scenes to try to make Ross Hannah a permanent fixture at Blundell Park.
Speaking to Mariners Player, John said: “We are working on that one. We are not going to be held to ransom. There are some really strange numbers being asked for. Given that we are in the Conference and Ross is playing at this level with us, enjoying it and doing rather well, we can’t help but think that the numbers being talked about are unrealistic. We’re realistic, we’ve got values that we are prepared to go to. We’ve already served those to Bradford and we are hoping that they are mulling them over and that something can be done.”
And of Nathan Pond’s situation, John said: “Fleetwood will probably want to run the rule over him. I think at the end of his loan he will no doubt go back and the manager will have a look at him. We understand that a decision will be made the second or third week in January as to whether he stays there or becomes surplus to requirements. At which stage we hope that we are in a reasonable position to require his signature.”
