Club Statement

23 July 2012

IT has come to light after several emails to the club from our supporters, that there is a sense of confusion over the club’s stance with regards to racism in sport. The club would like to reassure its supporters, that we fully support the “Let’s Kick Racism Out Of Football” campaign and still have a zero tolerance to racially motivated incidents. All racially reported incidents are taken seriously by the club.

It was noted incorrectly in the press on Saturday that the club had made a statement to the courts asking for a racially accused person not to receive a banning order.

This is not the stance of the club. A request to provide a letter of support for the defendant was refused.

This incident is still being dealt with by the courts and until it has reached completion, the club is unable to comment further.
