Tamworth Preview

3 November 2012

The Mariners recorded their fourth away victory with a 1-0 win at Tamworth this afternoon.

Andy Cook's 62nd minute strike was enough to give Town their first win against the Lambs in seven attempts.

The Mariners handed a debut to Bury loanee Marcus Marshall, who started the game on the right side of the Town midfield.

Ian Miller came in at the heart of the Town defence in place of the suspended Shaun Pearson.

Town took the when Colbeck's set piece was headed on by Disley and fell to the feet of Andy Cook at the far post to bundle the ball home.

Six minutes later Tamworth were down to ten man as Oji was dismissed for a foul on Marcus Marshall.

And Town had the ball in the back of the net on 73 minutes from the head of Pond but the linesman's flag was raised and the goal was disallowed.

The Mariners were hanging on a bit at the end although Colbeck saw a brilliant effort saved by the Lambs keeper.
