TOWN boss Rob Scott was pleased that his side came through another tough task at Telford this afternoon.
He said: “It was a tough game. Following on from Alfreton we said to the players that it was going to be a similar game with regards the physicality. As Alfreton were on a six game unbeaten run, Telford were on a good run themselves.
“We knew we had to be at it but I don’t think we quite clicked.
“We were good enough to see out the game in what was a much better second half performance.”
And what was Rob’s thoughts on the performance of Ian Miller who came in for the injured Shaun Pearson?
Rob said: “We’ve just said to Dusty (Ian Miller) in there that we are pleased for him. He’s played one game since pre-season. That’s due to the fact that the reserves league is so sporadic – other teams keep cancelling. We were never going to let him out on loan. Today Shaun Pearson’s gone down with an injury and we know we’ve got a very good replacement in Ian Miller. He’s come in today and looked fit and strong and topped it off with a goal.”
How long will Shaun be out for?
“We’ve know idea. It’s one of those that we need to get to the root of it first before we give him a prognosis on time. Obviously Fordy wants to go and get some games. We admire his attitude to be honest. Fordy’s at the club and we’ve got a reserve game this week that he will play in.”
Just a reminder that Tuesday’s Reserves game against Burton will now be played at Blundell Park (2pm).
