Players To Do Their Own Take On Movember

18 October 2012

THE Grimsby Town players have decided to do their own take on Movember by growing moustaches in aid of the charities of Richard Broadley and Matty Dawson.

Matty, of Louth, lost his four-year battle against cancer in last August, aged just 20.

Richard, who was a member of the Grimsby Town Band, passed away in the October just two days after being diagnosed with leukaemia, also aged 20.

The players will start November with clean shaven faces and then grow and groom a moustache for the entire month. They are kicking it all off by making a donation from their wages to the two chosen charities and are then hoping to be sponsored for their efforts.

The rules: There is to be no joining of the mo to the sideburns (that’s considered a beard), there’s to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin (that’s considered a goatee).

We will bring you details of how you can sponsor the players soon.
