Town Appoint Adam Smith As Head Of Youth

11 October 2012

GRIMSBY Town Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Smith as the new manager of the youth team, following Robbie Stockdale's move to Sunderland AFC.

Adam has been on the academy management and coaching staff for over five years and currently holds the Academy Manager role for the under 8's - 16s.

His tireless work with the age groups, the player development programme at Oasis Academy Wintringham alongside his involvement in coaching the full-time apprentices and supporting the first team managers sees him as natural successor to the position.

Adam has previously managed the youth team, for six months in a caretaker capacity following Neil Woods appointment as first team manager. A tenure that saw him manage the successful Midlands Floodlit cup campaign including the final, a victory over Shrewesbury Town FC at Blundell Park

The twenty seven year olds' new role also sees him take charge of reserve team matches along side Steve Croudson.

Adam takes up the post with immediate effect and the process will now begin to recruit additional staff to the academy to fill the gap left by his appointment.
