Barrow Preview

4 September 2012

IN today’s Barrow Preview. It’s Rob Scott’s turn to look ahead to the trip to Holker Street on Tuesday night. The Town boss has hinted that Dayle Southwell could be set to make his first Grimsby Town start. Rob also talks about last week’s bid by Preston North End to lure Anthony Elding away from Blundell Park.

Asked if Dayle Southwell would be making his first start for the club, Rob said: “We've obviously got a couple of forwards injured. We've got Andy Cook, Dayle Southwell and Anthony Elding – it's between those three. We'll have to wait and see if Greg Pearson is fit in the morning.”

Greg suffered a groin strain during Saturday's 2-0 win at Hereford United,

The Town joint boss confirmed that it was Preston North End who had tried to lure Anthony Elding away from Blundell Park. He said: “We had one phone call about him and that was from Preston."

"We are not about to let a player go without a suitable replacement. Ultimately he’s at this football club and I want him to give everything he’s got for the football club. I never question his attitude and that’s not an issue.”.
