TOWN director John Fenty and some of the Grimsby Town players will be taking part in Sunday’s Smileathon event in Cleethorpes.
The players have signed up for the sponsored hop, skip, jump, walk or run along the Cleethorpes seafront.
Set to be the biggest fundraiser ever to take place for charities in North East Lincolnshire, all the money raised from the one-mile event on Sunday, will go to eight excellent Lincolnshire causes.
They are Cleethorpes RNLI; Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital Macmillan Ward and A1 Trust Fund; The Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home; North East Lincolnshire Women's Aid; The Laura McPhee Memorial Fund; North East Lincolnshire Disability Sports Forum; Harbour Place Day Centre; and Friendship at Home Scheme.
Striker Liam Hearn will also be at the Meridian Park to cheer on his team-mates, and there there will be a penalty shoot-out at the start line with one of our young keepers between the posts.
Anyone who wants to register to take part on the day should report to register at the Meridian Park at 9.30 am.
