THE Mariners have signed Crawley Town winger Scott Neilson on a three month loan deal.
Scott joined Crawley in August 2010 from Bradford City after Steve Evans had already had several approaches turned down.
He made his debut against Cambridge United, for whom he had enjoyed a successful loan spell last season, and quickly established himself as a first-team regular until January 2011 when he broke a toe in his left foot during the warm-up before the return fixture against Cambridge.
He regained his fitness and was in the squad again for the final five games as Reds clinched promotion to the Football League.
Scott scored his first goal of the season against Morecambe in February and has made real impact coming off the bench for the Reds.
He was recalled to the line-up for the final game of the season and scored the winning goal against Accrington Stanley to send Reds into League 1.
The 25 year old is expected to go straight into Friday’s squad to face Luton.
