Arthur Dawson is our latest Fan of the Month.
Arthur turned 90 on 5th April and is still a loyal season ticket holder and regular in the Pontoon at Blundell Park. He was (of course) at Wembley for the trophy final and attended the other Wembley games in 1998 and 2008. He's in very good health for 90 - he still makes it to the top of the Pontoon for every home match. We're not 100% sure when he attended his first Town match (I can find out and confirm this) but we think it was in the late 1920s/early 30s. He certainly remembers when Town were in the old first division and Pat Glover, Harry Betmead et al were playing for Town. I'm not sure if he is the oldest fan that attends BP but he must be up there with the oldest!
Having been there and seen it all with the Mariners, he is quite a stoic character and take all the lows and highs in his stride. He's well known for his catchphrase "you never know in football" which has kept us all hoping many a time! His enthusiasm still remains - none more so than at the recent Wrexham game when he managed to snap his false teeth in half (whilst eating a humbug!) seconds before Ross Hannah scored the winning goal at BP. He was celebrating like the rest of us, nothing stops him!
