TOWN striker Liam Hearn looks set for a lengthy injury lay-off after a scan on his knee revealed that he has a cruciate ligament injury.
After scoring a fantastic goal against Barnet last weekend, the former Alfreton Town striker limped out of the game after twisting his knee.
And after a scan on Friday both his and Paul Hurst’s worst fears were confirmed.
Speaking after today’s FA Trophy game at Coalvillle, Paul Hurst said: “It’s not good news for me and it’s not good news for the football club. It is hard to take for him. He worked so hard to come back from his injury.
“This season he has shown glimpses without quite getting back to where he was. Last Saturday’s goal was an example of what he can do. He must be extremely disappointed and frustrated, but his time will come – it’s just a case of when for him. I’m sure he’s had happier times.”
