GRIMSBY Town Football Club’s next Skrill Premier fixture on Thursday 19th December at Blundell Park against Kidderminster Harriers will be our first ‘Mariners Memory Game’ to raise awareness of dementia.
We will be working along side the Sporting Memories Network, which has established a national reputation for promoting and developing the use of sporting memories to improve well-being, through conversation and reminiscence, to encourage fans to share their favourite recollections of the club and it's rich history.
On the day activities at Blundell Park:
Fans will be asked to wear their favourite Mariners shirt from over the years to the match
Young adults who have been through the club’s National Citizen Service will be on hand to interview fans around the ground to capture more memories
A special souvenir edition of The Mariner matchday programme containing memories from club officials, players and fans
A half time parade on the pitch of club legends
We are also asking supporters to share their own ‘Mariners Memories’ by tweeting them to @officialgtfc – the very best ones will be included in the programme for the game…so get tweeting!
