DERBY County defender Tom Naylor has joined the Mariners on loan until the end of the season.
21-year-old Naylor recently returned to Pride Park after spending three months on loan at League 2 Bradford City, where he made seven appearances.
Tom joined the Rams on loan from Mansfield Town in November 2011 before making the move a permanent one in January 2012 for an undisclosed fee.
The young defender, who can also perform at either right back or centre-half, impressed during a week-long trial with the Rams a few weeks earlier and had attracted interest from clubs as high as the Premier League after he spent some time on trial at Fulham.
He is regarded as one for the future by manager Nigel Clough, who had monitored his progress for some time and he proved his worth during the latter stages of the 2011-12 season after being thrust into first-team action.
Tom is not eligible to play in Saturday’s FA Trophy tie at Dartford because he was not registered before the first leg at Blundell Park.
