Town boss Paul Hurst thought that his side deserved the 2-1 victory at in-form Welling today.
He said: âThe aim was to come here and get a result but itâs not an easy place to come to.
âIt was always going to be a difficult tie but I thought we deserved the victory.
âWe all know how well Welling are going and itâs nice to put an end to their run. I think they showed why they are doing well and confidence is up.â
The Town joint boss thought that all three penalties were the right decision.
He said: âI think we could have had a handball decision aswell.
âThe first one is a clear handball and Ross has hit the post. Then Shaunâs got the wrong side and heâs brought the lad down. They go one-nil up and then âDevâ (Jamie Devitt) gets caught. Ross was always going to be the penalty taker and after that I am more than happy for whoever wants it. That shows that they are confident and want to stick the ball in the net. Ross was a little bit unlucky - on another day that goes in off the post.
âI always felt like we werenât going to lose the game. The longer the game went on they just threw balls up there and we were just defending set-plays.
âThey didnât really cut us open.â
And Paul was pleased with the business that the join managers had done in the transfer market.
He said: âIâm delighted with the business that we have done. At this moment in time we will go with what we have got but you never know. We need to be weary of one or two injuries or suspensions.â Â Â Â Â Â
