Reserves Well Beaten

6 March 2013

Grimsby Town Res 0 Bradford City Res 4

OUR Reserve team were comfortably beaten by Bradford City this afternoon.

The visitors had taken the lead on 25 minutes when their forward headed over Town keeper Callum Bastock. Town’s best chance fell to Rob Bryant in the second half when he was put through on goal but his close range effort was well saved by the City keeper.

On 75 minutes, after a mix up in the Town defence, a City player ran through to score and make it 2-0.

Minutes later it was 3-0, this time an own goal coming from the head of Chris Burgess.

The visitors added to Town’s misery when they made it 4-0 on 84 minutes.

Young keeper Callum Bastock made his Reserve team debut. Bastock arrived from Boston United and has joined the Mariners on a two-year scholarship.

Town Squad: Callum Bastock, Ben Cuff,  Blaize Kerr, Josh Morrall, Will Pears, Jack Griffin, Rob Bryant, Lewis Smith, Paul Walker, Ellis Humble, Hamish Falconer, Caine Winfarrah, Sam Loughran, Lee Wattam, Callum Walker, Chris Burgess.
