Town Sign Brewer

28 March 2013

THE Mariners have signed Burton Albion winger Cleveland Taylor on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Taylor, who spent six months on loan with the Brewers in the 2009-10 season , returned to the club in May 2011 after leaving Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone.

Born in Leicester, Leicestershire, Taylor began his career at Premier League club Bolton Wanderers as a youngster in 2001, but his chances were limited and he was subsequently loaned out for spells at both Exeter City and Scarborough. He left Bolton Wanderers in 2003 and joined Scunthorpe United.

He played a part in Scunthorpe's success during the 2006–07 season when they won promotion to the Championship, but moved to Carlisle United in 2008.

On 13 August 2009, Taylor was announced as a Brentford player for an undisclosed fee, becoming Andy Scott's twelfth signing of the summer.

Taylor joined Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season on 14 January 2010, but signed for St. Johnstone six months later.

He has represented Jamaica at under-20 and under-23 (Olympic) levels.
