Futsal Scholarship Event Today

Interested in a Futsal Scholarship? There will be an open day today between 5pm and 7pm at Clee Field Sports Hall.


Grimsby Town FC Sport and Education Trust is offering a unique opportunity for talented 16 or 17 year-old football players to pursue a two-year Futsal and Education Scholarship.

 

 

Futsal is one of the fastest growing indoor sports in the world, with millions taking part regularly across the globe. Futsal is an indoor five-a-side game that requires a good level of technical and tactical ability. Our 2 year scholarship provides an excellent opportunity to any young people who want to: 

 

•Gain a high education to gain access to University

•Train and compete in a professional Futsal environment

•Gain qualifications to work in the Sport industry

•Represent Grimsby Town Futsal Club at a professional level

•Become a Futsal coach or referee

 

 Learners will have the opportunity to be involved in a regular, professional training programme eight hours a week. This programme will be delivered under the guidance of the Football League Trust, with professional coaches from Grimsby Town Trust.

 

Specialist Training will be supplemented with a regular fixture programme/ league with other professional football clubs from the Football League Trust Futsal League including Middlesbrough FC, Leeds United FC and Hull City FC to name three. The current league can be viewed at www.tvseducation.com, this site will be the hub for the Futsal League which will include:

 

•Pen Pictures of all teams and players

•Match Reports

•Team of the month

•Top goal scorers

•League tables and fixtures

 

Futsal has a key role in the FA's strategy to develop the game, looking to produce players capable enough to go represent England at international level. The FA will be offering Futsal scholar the opportunity to go play for their country at international level.

 

This is an innovative and exciting programme for 16-17 years old to be involved in a professional programme while gaining a first class education. The scholarship is a full time education programme, involving: 

•BTEC Level 3 Diploma, worth 3 A-Levels

•Access to University or Further Education
