Ritchie Gets The Green Light

17 September 2013

UPDATE: The Mariners have today received International Clearance for Ritchie Jones and the defender/ midfield player will be eligible to play against FC Halifax Town tonight.

After his spell in the US with Major League Soccer (MLS) side San Jose Earthquakes, the club need the US FA to give the English FA the nod and say that he is not contracted to the San Jose Earthquakes side.

The Mariners have right up to 6.45pm on Tuesday to get the clearance through in time for the clash at the Shay.

Meanwhile, Craig Disley and Sam Hatton are again major doubts for Tuesday’s game. Both players are currently sidelined with knee injuries. However, Chris Doig has now recovered from a groin strain and is expected to travel to West Yorkshire.

Town boss Paul Hurst has confirmed that he won’t be pursuing his interest in full-back Julian Kelly and he has now left the club. The player has been training with the Mariners over the past week or so.
