Town Hunt For Defender - Update

2 September 2013

UPDATE: THE Mariners are hoping to conclude a deal for an unnamed defender within the next hour or so. Stay right here for more.

JOINT bosses Rob Scott and Paul Hurst are hoping to bring in defensive reinforcements ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

The duo were already without Clayton McDonald and Sam Hatton through injury when Aswad Thomas was dismissed during Saturday’s defeat against Nuneaton for kicking out at an opponent. Thomas will now be forced to sit out the next three games.

Speaking after the Nuneaton game, Paul Hurst said: “I think we are going to have a busy weekend. “I went on record last week and said that we don’t ideally want to do that, we wanted to work with the group of players that we’ve got. After today, we’ve got a big game coming up at Luton and we are desperately short of defenders.”

The transfer window will slam shut at 11pm on Monday. Stay on to see if the bosses get their man.
