THE club are saddened to hear of the death of Pat Doughty. Pat was a devoted Grimsby Town supporter and has followed the Mariners for many years, travelling the length and breadth of the country with the GTFC travelling supporters club.
Despite illness, Pat was determined to get to as many Town games as she could.
She was nominated as our Fan of the Month back in 2012 and the following story highlights her determination.
Pat was due at Castle Hill Hospital near Hull ahead of Town's trip to Barrow, but her appointment wasn't until 1.30pm. She was so desperate to see the Mariners (as she always was), Pat managed to get the agreement of a doctor and another patient to swap appointment times so that she could travel with the Grimsby Town travelling supporters club to Cumbria.
Our thoughts are with Pat’s family at this sad time.
