GATESHEAD boss Gary Mills will be looking to take his side one step further this time around having suffered defeat in the play off final at Wembley back in May.
The Heed had announced nine signings during the close season, including Jon Shaw, JJ O'Donnell and of course Alex Rodman.
Mills, who has already achieved promotion from the Football Conference, back in 2012 with York City, is targeting "ten points out of 12" ahead of Town's visit.
"When the fixtures came out and you looked at the first four games, you could see it was tough for us," he told the club's official website.
"We've started well and it's something we need to maintain. It's all credit to the players, but we want to make it ten points out of 12.
"We have a good squad who are capable of doing that, and I'm sure we can get another result next."
One to Watch
Flying winger Marcus Maddison, who was rejected by Newcastle United 18 months ago, is the one to watch. He scored two scorchers in Gateshead’s 3-1 win over Torquay United in the opening game of the new Conference season and is getting rave reviews for his performances so far.
Alex Rodman opened his account for the Heed at in their 2-2 draw at Eastleigh at the weekend. Gary Mills' side are currently third in the Vanarama Conference League table, having won two and drawn one of their opening games.
