Paul Hurst will take his side to Boston United on Tuesday night for a friendly game. With a blank weekend for the Mariners the Town boss is keen to give some of his squad some 'game time'.
Speaking of the game, Hurst said: “Some of the lads that need game time will be playing in this game. It will be a nice test for us.”
And Town fans will get a chance to see New Zealand-er Hamish Watson in action again. The striker did come on for the closing minutes of the recent Woking game but he is set to get a full game under his belt as the Town boss takes another look at the player.
The gaffer said: “I look forward to having a look at him against different opposition. I need to see him in proper games.
“He's done well so far. He played on Wednesday in a practice game and scored. He's fitted in brilliantly and is beginning to look a bit fitter as well.”
The striker has signed a short term deal with the Mariners and Hurst says that there are no plans to extend that deal just yet. He said:“ We'll run as we are. We'll speak at various points and see where we are going. At this moment in time there are no plans to end the deal at a specific date.”
The game is open to the general public and kick-off at the Jakemans Stadium is 7.00pm.
Admission is: £2 adults, £1 concessions (Main stand only).
