THE Mariners have signed York City defender Jamal Fyfield on a deal until the end of the season.
Jamal is described as a player who can play in different positions.
He has played almost 100 times for City, having first arrived at Bootham Crescent in 2010 from Maidenhead United, then of the Conference South, as the final signing of former City manager Martin Foyle.
Born in London and coming through the Leyton Orient youth system, City are Jamal’s most northern career outpost to date. Although occasionally picked at left wing, almost all of Jamal’s City appearances have come as a defender, whether left back or left sided centre back as he is left footed.
The 24-year-old will travel to Forest Green with the Town squad on Tuesday, but Town boss Paul Hurst is still to make a decision on whether he will make his debut at the New Lawn.
Reaction and the latest ahead of that trip on Mariners Player soon.
