Macca's Number One

3 July 2014

JAMES McKeown is going to be Town's number one next season (literally).

Town boss Paul Hurst has convinced the Irishman that number 13 is unlucky and he should consider being number one for the first time in his career.

Speaking to Mariners Player, Macca said: "Gaffer told me it was unlucky.  I've thought about it over the last couple of seasons and I talked to my dad about it when I was younger. He always said that you want to be number one somewhere and that should be your aim.

"I've obviously been number one but have never actually worn number one before.

"It's just a number and number 13 has never gone terribly wrong for me.

"There's more from Macca on Mariners Player. The Town number one talks about the season ahead and his first training session with new keeper coach Paul Crichton. We also catch up with PC after taking that first session with the Town keepers.
