Town 2 v 0 Sunderland

Lenell John-Lewis' early strike and a fine finish by Paddy McLaughlin gave the Mariners a win against a Sunderland Xl side tonight.

Former £5 million man Danny Graham was included in the Sunderland starting line-up.  Shaun Pearson and Toto Nsiala started at the heart of the Town defence, with Paul Bignot at left-back and Paul Walker on the right side of the Town back four.

Craig Disley and Craig Clay formed the Mariners' central midfield partnership, with Scott Neilson and Caine Winfarrah on the Town flanks. Ross Hannah and lenell John-Lewis were Town's starting frontmen.    

The Mariners taken the lead on 10 minutes when Paul Walker got the better of a Sunderland defender before delivering a superb cross, right on the the toe of John-Lewis to fire home.

And Town had to wait until four minutes from time to score a second and deserved goal. Paddy McLaughlin curled one past Stryjek into the far corner.
