Scotty's Back!

20 May 2014

MIDFIELDER Scott Neilson has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

Scott had rejoined the Mariners during the summer of 2013 having had a successful three month loan spell in 2012, before joining Luton on a short-term contract in January 2013.

He started his career alongside his brother, Tony, at first Hertford Town and then Ware, before he earned a move to Cambridge City. He made his name in non-league as a goal-scoring winger and he came to the attention of a number of league clubs. He had trials with three of them and eventually won a move to League Two side Bradford City.

After spending a year at Bradford he eventually moved south to Crawley Town. Scott came to Cleethorpes for a successful three month loan spell in 2012, before joining Luton on a short-term contract in January 2013.

He made 43 appearances for the Mariners last season, scoring 7 goals.
