Skipper Pens New Deal

15 May 2014

CRAIG Disley has put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the club. Disley, James McKeown and Scott Neilson are the only players to be offered new contracts by Town boss Paul Hurst.

Speaking to, the Town skipper said: “I’m absolutely delighted. It’s been a long hard season. I think it could have gone either way for me this year.  Some people might have thought that some of the other players might have stayed - myself included. So I am delighted to have finalised the deal.”

And Diz is delighted with his best ever goal return last season.

He said: “We spoke about getting double figures this time last year, so to get 12 was a great achievement.

“I scored some important goals towards the end of the season, but ultimately, I’m disappointed in the way the season finished.

“Hopefully next season we will come back bigger and stronger and we will be better for it.”

The Town skipper has had a good chat with the manager and is pleased that he fits into his plans.

Craig concluded: “We had a good chat about everything and he wants me here next year. From my point of view that was good to hear.

“He’s been great with me since I've been at the club.”
