TOWN boss Paul Hurst says that putting the Braintree ghost to rest might be a sign of some good things to come.
He said: “For me that is a great victory and one that is a sign that you've got a chance of doing very well.
“Obviously there is a long way to go.
“Ultimately it was about us being nice and solid. I don't think we looked like conceding, maybe a block at the end but not a shot.”
Next up for the Mariners is Saturday's FA Cup first round tie against Oxford United, and the Town boss says that, although the U's might be slight favourites, his side will be confident going into the game.
Paul said: "All in all I don't think it would be the biggest shock of the weekend if we did manage to get a victory."
