THE Mariners have been granted international clearance for New Zealand striker Hamish Watson and he has signed for the club on a short term deal.
Hamish, who has been training with the club for several weeks, started out as a 4 year old at New Zealand club Lower Hutt City.
In February 2014 he signed for A-league side Wellington Phoenix for the remainder of their 2013-14 season. He went onto join Central Premier League side Wairarapa United, where he became known as a 'goal-scoring machine' - banging in 19 goals, and grabbing the prestigious golden boot awards.
He has also represented New Zealand at Under-20 level.
Hamish was part of the New Zealand Under-20 team that qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
