This week we’re going all retro to launch Grimsby Town Football Club’s first ever official sticker album.
Following the re-emergence of football stickers in popular culture, thanks to the recent FIFA World Cup in Brazil, The Mariners have decided to produce a Panini-like sticker album that includes all of the current squad as well as a number of ‘classic’ players.
The limited edition sticker book, which has been printed by local company Wydenham Gait, will be available from the Blundell Park club shop completely free of charge – but only with an exclusive voucher in the Grimsby Telegraph between Wednesday and Saturday this week.
Supporters living outside of the North East Lincolnshire area need not worry about missing out. Exiled Mariners will be able to ‘order’ one of the limited edition sticker books from our official e-shop this week.
In total there will be 60 stickers to collect and four will be included in every edition of our award-winning matchday programme; starting with the Dartford game on Saturday.
If you don’t want to wait until the end of the season to complete your album, fans will be able to purchase specially made up ‘packs’ of five from the club shop at £1 each from this weekend.
Although traditionally, football stickers are usually found in the school-yards across the nation, we’d like to see collectors trading their duplicated stickers online via Twitter using our very own hashtag #gotgotneedGTFC.
So if you would like to use this method to fill your album, make sure you include @officialgtfc in the message and we will re-tweet your ‘swapsies’ to our followers.
