The 21-year-old is described as a strong, robust centre-forward and is a product of the New Zealand Lower Hutt club (which he joined at the age of four) and Team Wellington.
Speaking after the Mariners' 3-0 victory against Guiseley, Paul said: “He's been with us the last couple of weeks, trained with us while we have a little look.
“At the minute we are just having a look. It's hard for him because he's not up to full speed as yet. He's certainly shown that he's competent and he's not embarrassed himself by any stretch in training.
"He will certainly be with us for a little bit longer before we make a decision,” he added. .
