Town boss Paul Hurst is hoping that Jon-Paul Pittman's injury isn't as bad as first feared. The striker limped out of Saturday's clash with Torquay with a hamstring injury and it was feared that the player would be out for a number of weeks. Speaking ahead of Tuesday's trip to Halifax, Paul said: "He'll certainly be out for a few weeks, but we'll probably look at that later in the week and get a further assessment on it."
Lenell John Lewis, who also limped out of Saturday's game, after jarring his ankle in a tackle, will miss the trip to the Shay but it is hoped that the striker could be fit for Saturday's Vanarama Conference league fixture at Kidderminster.
The Mariners are also hoping to have Nathan Arnold available ahead of the weekend. Nathan has been sidelined with a thigh injury.
Several phone calls later, Paul Hurst has been busy trying to get a striker in ahead of Tuesday's game but that is now looking very unlikely.
