Boston United 1-3 Grimsby Town

1 August 2015

THE Mariners kept their 100% (first team) pre-season record with a 3-1 win in the final warm-up game this afternoon.

Town took the lead after just seven minutes, breaking at pace, with Marcus Marshall's effort well saved, Monkhouse was on hand to tee up Amond from close range.

But the home side were level just after the break after a mix up in the Town defence allowed Felix in to score.

The visitors restored their lead on 65 minutes when Mackreth and Tait linked up well, before a deep cross found Amond to poke home off the post.

Shaun Pearson, back at his old club, added the Mariners' third with a towering header five minutes later, sealing Town's ninth pre-season victory.

Grimsby Town: McKeown, Tait, Gowling, Nsiala, East, Mackreth, Clay, Disley, Marshall, Monkhouse, Amond.

Subs: Pearson, Bastock, Clifton, Venney.
