National League Round-Up

26 December 2015

How it went on Boxing Day.

THE Mariners slip down a place in the Vanarama National League table after Dover's 2-1 victory at strugglers Welling. Town now, who are now fifth in the National League,  have three games in hand over the Crabble side though.

Cheltenham seven points clear of second placed Forest Green Rovers after their 2-1 win at Kidderminster Harriers, while Rovers were thumped 4-1 at Torquay United.

Third place Eastleigh fought out a 2-2 draw at mid-table Bromley.

Macclesfield Town, Lincoln City and Wrexham all failed to make up ground  on the sides currently occupying the play-off spots.  The Silkmen went down 1-0 at home to Tranmere Rovers, The Imps, who are the visitors to Blundell Park on Monday, succumb to a 70th minute winner from Sam Walker, while Wrexham suffered a home defeat at the hands of lowly Southport, with Blakemen's scoring the only goal of the game for the Merseyside club.
