With tempers in games between the Mariners and the Imps traditionally ending up flared, it will take a strong referee to keep things under control, and the West Yorkshire referee is often considered one of the best in the National League.
Holmes has three seasons of experience at this level under his belt, and has handed out 46 yellow cards and two reds in 13 games this season, whilst that was 39 yellow cards and three reds in 20 games last campaign.
He will be assisted by Natalie Aspinall and Harry Hawkins, whilst Alf Greenwood has been appointed Fourth Official.
LAST TIME OUT
Holmes last officiated Town in the 2-1 victory over Eastleigh at Blundell Park in March, where goals from Ollie Palmer and Lenell John-Lewis saw Town move up to third in the National League despite a late consolation from Eastleigh's Jamie Turley.
The referee also sent off Eastleigh's Deon Burton for violent conduct in that game, whilst amongst other games, he took charge of Town's 6-1 thrashing at Gateshead last August.
