THE Mariners will again be without Scott Brown and Jon-Paul Pittman for Saturday's top of the table clash with Bristol Rovers at Blundell Park.
The duo are both back in training and Paul Hurst is hoping to have them back for next Saturday's trip to league leaders Barnet.
Speaking at Thursday's press conference, the Town boss said: "Jon Paul Pittman and Scott Brown are still injured. We are speaking this morning and we would still hope to have those two back for the Barnet game.
"There is no definite date there but we are hopeful that will be the case.
"JP trained last Thursday and Friday and was really hoping to kick on Monday, but he dropped out towards the end as a precaution and felt sore over the weekend.
"Brownie is doing his running. You'll see him today doing all his straight line work, he looks fit, but it is that twisting and turning. There's no point in pushing him to be ready for Saturday. He's been out a little while now but hopefully he'll be back involved with us next week."
And the Town boss explained why Scott Neilson had left the club this week.
Paul said: "Scott was made available for loan with a few other players.
"And not too long after he was talking about terminating his contract.
"He needed to get himself fit and right, and if he had done he would have been in and around the team.
"Ultimately, I don’t think he was fully committed to the cause – so in the end we came to a mutual agreement."
