FREEVIEW: Archive Game: Grimsby Town 4 - 3 Bristol Rovers

Eight years ago this week – seven days after putting six past Boston United in their own backyard – the Mariners battled back from two goals down to beat Bristol Rovers 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at Blundell Park.

A young Craig Disley bagged a brace for the Pirates, who also included former Mariner Stuart Campbell and future England striker Ricky Lambert in their side.

19 year old striker Danny North scored his first goal for Town, while skipper Justin Whittle, Danny Boshell and Ciaran Toner also got themselves on the score sheet that afternoon.

Team: Barnes, Bloomer, Newey, Fenton, Whittle, Harkins, Bolland, Boshell, Toner, Bore, North.

Used Substitutes: Jones, Rankin.
