A BRISTOL Rovers supporter was so impressed with the Grimsby Town stewards he decided that he should call the club and make his thoughts known.
Dudley Stansbury, who lives in Winterton near Scunthorpe, was coming to the game with his grandson, but because he suffers from breathing problems and cannot walk long distances, he had planned to drop his grandson off and listen to the game on the radio.
Dudley said: "This poor old so and so was helped superbly by your stewards.
"I was anticipating driving away and listening to the match on the radio. Your chaps not only found me parking spot but they held back people so that I didn't reverse onto them, and kindly helped me negotiate a tricky reversing job.
"The stewards then escorted us through the back of the stand so that our walk was minimised.
"Please thank them on my behalf, they were unique and superb. They and the club should be proud of their team effort.
"Sorry we beat you but perhaps you will get your revenge at Wembley," Dudley added.
Dudley has made a donation to St Andrews Hospice as a sign of his appreciation.
